My Coaching Approach
A coach is always thinking about ways to help their clients feel fulfilled, so I am constantly on the search for a more comprehensive coaching process. While I have seen my clients make incredible fitness and nutrition gains, I had felt as if there was still a piece of the puzzle missing because there are so many intersecting aspects of wellbeing: sleep, mindfulness, relationships, interests & pursuits, good habits, etc.
Working with clients for many years has shown me that a very committed fitness and nutrition routine can work well for many clients. With other clients, I have found that they had other surrounding factors limiting their success.
Once I incorporated personal growth concepts into the wellness coaching process, I found that clients were experiencing greater day-to-day success in achieving their goals. Personal growth exercises can help identify and address specific limitations. For example, a client might recognize that they are using food and alcohol to cope with stress. Wellness coaching can help the client reflect on the sources of stress and then use new habit formation to replace food and alcohol with healthy alternative stress relievers: including better eating, meditation, and breathwork. I’m awed when my clients tell me they are feeling more empowered, confident, and fulfilled in their lives.
